Virginia \nJane (Patten) Kummer, 85, of Gibsonia, formerly of \nButler, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 22, 2019 \nat her daughter's residence. \n\nShe was born January 7, 1934 in Butler, Pennsylvania \nto the late Homer A. Patten and the late Margaret (Sutliffe) \nPatten. \n\nVirginia worked as a Clerk for Nationwide Insurance. \nShe was Baptist by faith. Virginia enjoyed sewing \nand crocheting. She liked to read Christian novels \nand ride Harleys. \n\nVirginia is survived by her two daughters, Vickie L. \nHopson of Gibsonia, PA, Patricia A. (Steven B.) \nNorwitz of Wilmington, DE; and one son, Thomas B \n(Diane) Kummer of Gaithersburg, MD. \n\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in \ndeath by her husband, Norman B. Kummer, who she \nmarried on December 7, 1951 who passed away on May \n26, 2007; one son, Lyndon B. Kummer, and one \nson-in-law, Jim Hopson.\n\nAs per her wishes, there will be no public \nvisitation.\n\nA memorial service will be held on Monday, September \n16, 2019 at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at \nGreenlawn Burial Estates.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made \nto any Veteran's Organization.
