Susan Eleanor Andre, 70, of \nButler, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 18, 2021 \nat Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot.. \n\nShe was born August 5, 1950 in Butler, Pennsylvania \nto the late Clarence Andre and the late Eleanor \n(McKnight) Andre. \n\nSusan attended Butler High School graduating in \n1968. She then attended Butler County Community \nCollege, earning her Associated Degree in Applied \nScience. Susan relocated to Reston, Virginia near \nWashington, D.C, where she joined the U.S. \nDepartment of Treasury, achieving a Senior Level \nposition as a Computer Analyst for Personnel Payroll \nin the Office of Thrift Supervision. Since her \nretirement in 2005, Susan divided her time between \nReston and Butler, rejoining old friends and making \nnew ones.\n\nHer lifelong interests included music, film, \nspiritual philosophy, sewing, quilting, politics and \nall things feline. Her loving association with her \ncat companions stimulated her interest in animal \nwelfare and charity work. Susan's profound \ngenerosity toward the Butler County Humane Society \nlargely enabled the extensive renovation of the \nFeline Wing at their Connoquenessing facility.\n\nAs a talented seamstress, she was dedicated to her \ncraft, continually creating. She delighted family \nand friends with gifts of her beautiful quilt work, \nall intricately fashioned and flawlessly executed. \nReaching out beyond her community, Susan applied her \ntalents as a "Blanketeer" creating and donating \ndozen of handmade blankets and pillow cases to \nProject Linus, a national, non-profit organization \nproviding comfort to seriously ill children.\n\nSusan is survived by many cousins.\n\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in \ndeath by her grandparents Ray and Ruth Andre and \nDonald and Pearl McKnight.\n\nWith kindness and generosity, she leaves the legacy \nof her art; and other philanthropy towards animal \nwelfare, the environment, the human spirit and \nintellect; improving life in Butler Community. \n\nA special note of appreciation to the Schwalm Hall \nStaff at Concordia.\n\nA private memorial service and burial will be held.\n\nMemorials are suggested to the Butler County Humane \nSociety, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053, \nCamp Lutherlyn, P.O.
