Shirley Flory, 89, of \nButler, PA passed away on Monday at the Butler \nMemorial Hospital. \n\nShe was born December 14, 1931 in Johnstown, \nPennsylvania to the late Wilfred Dishong and June \nFyock Dishong. She was preceded in death by her \nhusband of 58 years, Carl Flory.\n\nMrs. Flory graduated from Adams Township High School \nand then went to Chicago where she worked with \nBrethren Volunteer Service. Mrs. Flory was an active \nmember of North Main Street Church of God and served \nin the women's organization for many years. She \ntaught a Sunday school class for 25 years and served \nas a volunteer for Butler Meals on Wheels. Mrs. \nFlory enjoyed reading, knitting and spending time \nwith her grandchildren.\n\nMrs. Flory is survived by her two daughters, Karen \n(Richard) Hoerner of West Chester, Pennsylvania and \nCheryl (Timothy) Temple of Butler, Pennsylvania; two \ngrandsons, Matthew (Jennifer) Hoerner of Milford, \nConnecticut, and Michael Hoerner of Madison, \nWisconsin; two granddaughters, Madeline Temple and \nTaylor Temple, both of Butler;, and a great \ngrandson, Joshua Hoerner of Milford, Connecticut. \nMrs. Flory was preceded in death by her sisters, \nLois Hoffman of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and Wilma \nBixler of Goshen, Indiana; and a brother, Richard \nDishong of Jackson, Tennessee.\n\nThere will be no public visitation or services. \n\nPrivate burial will take place in the Greenlawn \nBurial Estates.\nMemorial contributions may be made to Brethren \nVolunteer Service, 1451 Dundee Avenue, Elgin, IL, \n60120\n\nThompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the \nfamily with the arrangements.
