Shirley A. Barger, 85, of \nButler, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 5, 2022 \nat the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, PA. \n\nShe was born July 2, 1937 in Salem Township, \nPennsylvania to the late Rex R. McElhattan and the \nlate Ila C. (Shakley) McElhattan. \n\nShirley graduated from Keystone High School in Knox, \nPA. She is a member of North Main St. Church of God. \nShirley taught Adult Sunday School Classes for 60 \nyears. She was a president of Christian Women's \nConnection and the president of Brookstone Condo \nAssociation. Shirley was a homemaker She enjoyed \nreading, going to the symphony, and going to \nWhitehall Camp.\n\nShe is survived by son, Donald A. Barger (Alesia) of \nEmlenton, PA; two daughters, Deborah K. Jordan of \nKnox, PA, Pamela J. Gruver (Stanley) of Butler, PA; \nseven grandchildren, Kelly Barrett (Doug), Courtney \nAndryka (Aaron), Tiffany Lauer (Matt), Mandy \nLesney(Kory), Ben Barger (Victoria), Katelyn Dush \n(Garrett), Jazlyn Menees (Lucas); 13 \ngreat-grandchildren, two sisters, Connie Whitmore of \nKnox, PA, and Darlene McElhattan of Knox, PA. \n\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in \ndeath by husband, Charles "Tom" Barger who she \nmarried on September 22, 1956 and who passed away on \nAugust 19. 1998, two brothers and four sisters.\n\nFriends will be received at Thompson - Miller \nFuneral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, \nPA. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 \npm,\n\nFuneral services will be held on Monday, August 8, \n2022 at 11:00 am at the North Main Street Church Of \nGod, 1201 N. Main St. Extension Butler, PA, with \nPastor Brandon Lenhart, officiating.\n\nBurial will take place in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery \nin Perry Township, Clarion County, Parker, PA.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to \nWhitehall Camp & Conference Center, Inc., 580 \nWhitehall Rd, Emlenton, PA 16373.
