Ruth Emilie McCall, 91, of \nUniontown PA, formerly of Butler PA passed away on \nSunday, September 5, 2021. She was born on January \n29, 1930 to the late Richard and Rupertine Muhla \nJames of Brownsdale, PA. She was a devoted wife to \nher husband, the late Robert D. McCall, for 47 years \nuntil he passed in 1998. They were high school \nsweethearts from Penn Township High School, class of \n1947. Ruth lived in the Butler area for most of her \nlife, with brief stints in Patuxent River, MD and \nNorfolk while her husband served in the Navy. In \n1998 Ruth and her husband moved to Uniontown, PA to \nbe closer to her daughter and three grandsons, with \nwhom she thoroughly enjoyed spending time. \n\nWhen Ruth's attention wasn't fully required to raise \nher 2 children, she worked in various administrative \npositions to supplant the family income. Once that \nwas no longer necessary, Ruth pursued various \nartistic interests until she found her passion, \nwhich was using stained glass to create windows, \nlamps and decorations that she sold locally or gave \nto family members and friends. She continued her \nglass work until she was no longer physically able. \nRuth always managed the household finances and was a \nvolunteer tax preparer for Uniontown and Butler \nVolunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) \norganizations.\n\nRuth was a member at Asbury United Methodist Church \nin Uniontown and a member of the United Methodist \nWomen. She was also an active member at Summit \nPresbyterian Church while she was in Butler.\n\nRuth was one of six siblings with two older and \nthree younger brothers. She is survived by two of \nher younger brothers, Nelson James of Renfrew, Pa, \nand Walter James (Kathy) of La Habre, California. \nRuth is also survived by her son Roger McCall and \nhis wife Terri of Raleigh, NC and daughter Susan \nSpinuzza and her husband Ed Claypoole of Uniontown. \nRuth had three grandsons, Luke Spinuzza (Vy) of \nHouston TX, James Spinuzza (Rachel) of Austin TX and \nJoseph Spinuzza of Houston, TX. Ruth had one \ngreat-grandson, Jameson, Luke's son, who delighted \nher regularly when he was in Uniontown.\n\nThe family would like to express appreciation to the \ncompassionate and tireless caregivers at Horizon \nPersonal Care Home as well as the cheerful and \ndependable staff of Amedysis Hospice.\n\nServices\n\nRuth will be laid to rest beside her husband at \nSummit Presbyterian Cemetery and a memorial service \nwill be held at Summit Presbyterian Church, October \n2 at 11:00 AM\n\nMemorial Donations may be made to Interfaith \nVolunteer Caregivers in Uniontown Http://interfaithvolunteercaregivers.org\n\nArrangements were entrusted to Thompson-Miller \nFuneral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, PA \n16001.
