Ruth Mary "Ruthie" Etzel Obituary (1948 - 2020)

Ruth Mary (Ruthie) Etzel, 72, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 12, 2020 after a short illness at The Grove at Harmony. She was born November 29, 1948 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Maxine Pastorius Etzel Geibel and the late Gerald Etzel. Ruth was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and also was a member of the Blue Army at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church where she attended daily mass. Ruth liked to do embroidery, crocheting, and playing cards. She loved the Pirates and the Penguins. She is survived by her mother Maxine Geibel; two sisters, Gerrie L. Palermo of Butler, PA, and Cindy Graham of Butler, PA; two brothers, Robert (Sally) Geibel of Butler, PA and Ronald Geibel of NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to her and also two cousins Terry Conerty and Kelly Conerty. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Geibel, and Judi Doumont, her loving aunt and uncle, Mary and Martin Michel, and also her aunt Yvonne Snyder. There will be no public visitation. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Private burial will take place in the St. Peter Cemetery in Butler, PA. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin Street, Butler, PA 16001.
