Ross \nKenneth Manuel, 86 of Butler passed away on December \n21, 2019 at his daughter Carol's residence surrounded by \nhis family.\n \nHe was born \nin Butler, PA on February 21, 1933 to the late Frank \nand Violet Manuel. Ross \n\nRoss was the youngest of 4 boys, and was devoted to \nhis late brothers; Charles and Jack as well as his \nsurviving brother Gene. He was a member of the 1950 \nWPIAL football champs and was chosen to play for the \nWestern Pennsylvania All-Star team of 1952. He \ngraduated from Butler High School in 1953. Ross was \na heavy weight boxer for the Butler Cubs and a \nGolden Glove winner. Ross coached midget football \nfor 12 years in Butler. He retired from Armco as a \nmachinist in 1994. Ross enjoyed cheering for his \ngrandchildren Chloe and Chaz at every sport practice \nor game. He could always be found with his good \nfriends at the local Donut Connection. Ross was a \ndedicated Steelers fan who never missed the Sunday \ngame. He was affectionately know by his friends as \n"Red and will be missed by many.\n\nHe was a loving father to daughter Carol D. \nDanilchak of Butler, PA and son Robin G. Manuel and \nhis fiance Stephanie Marshall of Butler, PA; one \ngrandson Chaz Danilchak and his fiance Heather \nMorida and her daughter Kayleigh Butera of New \nCastle, PA and one granddaughter Chloe (Adam) Geibel \nof Durham, NC one brother Gene Manuel of Butler, PA \nand numerous nieces and nephews.\n\nRoss was preceded by his wife Constance \nBester-Manuel who passed away in 1982 two brothers \nand their wives Chuck and Janet Manuel, Jack and \nWilma Manuel; sister-in-law Helen Manuel. \n\nReceiving of friends on Saturday, December 28, 2019 \nfrom 2 to 4 p.m. at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, \n124 East North Street, Butler, PA with a memorial \nservice to follow at 4:00 pm.
