Ronald \n"Pete" Kaufman, 83 of Connoquenessing passed away \nTuesday, February 9, 2021 at home surrounded by his \nloving family.\nBorn November 24, 1937 in Butler, \nPA, he was the son of the late Paul I Kaufman and \nHelen (Walker) Kaufman.\nPete graduated from Butler \nHigh School in 1955. He retired from Butler Armco in \n1999 as an electrician after more than 30 years of \nemployment. \nPete was a \nmember of the First United Methodist Church in \nButler. He was a lifelong member of the \nConnoquenessing Volunteer Fire Department, where he \nheld numerous positions and was in charge of the \nannual Old Fashioned Buckwheat Supper. Pete was an \norganist for Westminster Presbyterian Church of \nButler and St. Paul's United Church of Christ in \nConnoquenessing. Pete was a member of the Keystone \nSquares of Butler and impacted many lives as a \nchaperone/ bus driver of the General Butler \nVagabonds Drum and Bugle Corps. Most of all he \nenjoyed spending time with his children and \ngrandchildren especially at his camp in Clarion, PA \nand attending their sporting events and concerts.\n\nSurviving \nare his wife of 60 years, Carol S. "Mittie" (Welsh) \nKaufman whom he married September 17, 1960; two \nsons: Douglas Kaufman and his wife Carrie of Mt. \nChestnut; Michael Kaufman and his wife Jayni of \nRenfrew; a daughter Michelle Kovach and her husband \nMark of Renfrew; nine grandchildren: Evan, Jacob, \nJoshua, Anna, Adam and Abby Kaufman, Taylor (Josh) \nLawrence, Christian and Cameron Kovach; 3 great \ngrandchildren: Logan Kaufman and Isaiah and Ella \nLawrence; a brother Paul LeRoy Kaufman and his wife \nTheresa of Murrells Inlet, SC. \nThe family \nwould like to acknowledge Pete's loving caregivers \nover the past two years; Nicole, Bobbi, Cathy, Beth, Ashley \nand Good Samaritan Hospice. \nThere will \nbe no public visitation.\nServices will be private at \nthe convenience of the family.\nBurial will be at Butler \nCounty Memorial Park.\nIn lieu of flowers, the family \nrequests donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice \nor Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Department. \n\n\nArrangements are being entrusted to Thompson-Miller \nFuneral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, \nPA 16001.
