Norman Lee Carroll, 92, of \nButler, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, \nOctober 9, 2018 at the Concordia Lutheran \nMinistries. \n\nHe was born July 24, 1926 in Ransom, Kansas to the \nlate Hugh Belford Carroll and the late Ruth Naomi \nStewart Carroll. \n\nNorman is a veteran of WWII, having served in the US \nNavy on the USS Coral Sea Aircraft Carrier as Main \nEngine Officer. He attended Kansas \nUniversity, where he received his Bachelor's Degree \nin Business and in Engineering. Norman then worked \nfor Westinghouse in Cheswick as a Mechanical \nEngineer and was also owner/operator of Applied Test \nSystems for many years before retiring .\n\nHe is survived by one son, Robert G. Carroll and his \nwife Anita of Mars, PA; two grandchildren, Alayna \nCarroll, and Riley Carroll; one brother, Keith \nCarroll and his wife Mary of Burlington, NC; two \nnieces, Alison Smith, and Angela Hunnicut; and one \nnephew, Keith William Carroll. \n\nIn addition to his parents, he was preceded in death \nby his wife, Virginia Yotti Carroll, whom he married \nAugust 29, 1953 and who passed away on June 24, \n2012, and one brother, Bobby Carroll.\n\nFriends will be received Friday, October 12, 2018, \n4:00 pm -8:00 pm at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, \nInc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.\n\nA memorial service will be held on Saturday, October \n13, 2018, at 3:00 pm at the Trinity Presbyterian \nChurch, 107 Staley Avenue Butler, PA, with Rev. Donn \nEd, officiating.\n\nPrivate burial will take place in the Butler County \nMemorial Park with full military honors.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested \nto Hosanna Industries, 109 Rinard Ln., Rochester, PA \n15074.
