Muriel Joan (Raybuck) Hay Obituary (1931

Muriel Joan (Raybuck) Hay, 89, passed away Thursday, February 25, at her home surrounded by family and loved ones after a multi-year battle with cancer. Muriel was born in Butler, PA, December 15, 1931 to Paul George Raybuck and Annie Rosanna (Eiffler) Raybuck. She graduated Butler High School in 1949 and was married October 28, 1950 to Russell L. Hay with whom she had seven children. Muriel's passions in life were her relationship with the Lord, her children and grandchildren, and her various artistic talents which she tried to pass on to her family and use to glorify God. Muriel was a lifelong member of Summit Presbyterian Church to which she devoted much of her time and talent. Through her years, she contributed her creative talents to the church, served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and elder, and through her example had an impact on countless people's lives. In her younger years, she was also known for creating ornate wedding and event cakes for family and friends. She enjoyed photography and reading. Her parting wish would be for all to come to know and serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Preceding her in death were Russell, her husband of 59 years, an infant son, Drew Lorraine Hay, and her sister Marilyn (Raybuck) Stamp of Evans City, PA. Surviving are 6 children, Phillip Hay (Peg) of Fenelton, Daniel Hay (Cindy) of Butler, Jennifer Henderson Suttor (Mike) of Butler, Lisa Seybert (Tim) of Butler, Paula Hay (Kevin Frye) of Butler, and Timothy Hay of Butler; 7 Grandchildren, Rick (Ginny) Bold, Drew (Gretchen) Hay, Rikki (Mike) Woodling, April (Jess) Bemish, Patty Hay, Shane (Lisa) Seybert, and Kayleigh Seybert; 15 great-grandchildren, Josh Carlisle, Jordon Bold, Niven and Maddy Hay, Collette (Chris) Musati, Gabriel Stupka, Zachary and Ivy Woodling, Logan and Tanner Bemish, Timothy, Freya and Zora Seybert, Andrew Ramsey, James Gradwell; one great, great granddaughter, Harlee Musati. She is also survived by a brother, Karl Raybuck of Mentor, Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends and Family of Muriel Joan Hay, will be received at Summit Church, at the corner of Caldwell Drive and Saxonburg Road, Tuesday, March 2, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM for viewing with memorial service at 2:00. Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
