Mary Ellen Millen, 96, of \nButler, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 6, 2020 at \nthe Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. \n\nShe was born November 19, 1923 in Bedford, \nPennsylvania to the late John and Mary Henry. \n\nMary Ellen was a graduate of Bedford High School. \nShe received her Nursing Degree in Pittsburgh. Mary \nEllen was a member of First United Methodist Church \nwhere she was in charge of the 3M organization, \ncounting money and bereavement dinners. She worked \nas a RN for 40 years. Mary Ellen volunteered for \nMeals on Wheels, a camp nurse for the Boy Scouts and \nenjoyed hosting and playing Bridge.\n\nMary Ellen loved being a resident of Butler. She \nalways demonstrated her love for family, friends and \ncommunity by her actions.\n\nShe is survived by one son, John Jay (Cindy) Millen \nof Mims, FL; three grandchildren, Joshua (Heather) \nMillen of Mims, FL, Jeremiah Johnson of Green Bay, \nWI, and Mariah Johnson of Titusville, FL; one great \ngrandson, Sawyer Millen; and daughter-in-law, Faye \nMillen of Coffeyville, KS. \n\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in \ndeath by her husband, John Jacob Millen who passed \naway March14, 2006, one son, Henry Lawrence Millen, \nand one sister.\n\nFriends will be received Friday, June 12, 2020, from \n10 am until time of service at 12 (noon) at Thompson \n- Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street \nButler, PA. with Pastor Barbara Stoehr, officiating.\n\nBurial will take place in the Summit Presbyterian \nChurch Cemetery.\n\nMemorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, \n218 East Jefferson Street, Butler, PA 16001.\n\nDue to Covid-19 State Guidelines, visitors are asked \nto wear facial coverings and maintain social \ndistancing.
