Marlyn J. (Petri) Dempsey Obituary (1940 - 2022)

Marlyn J. (Petri) Dempsey, 81, of Butler PA passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 30, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI, she was the daughter of the late John Wayne Petri and the late Angeline (Rupert) Petri. Marlyn married her high school sweetheart, the late Robert "Bob" Dempsey on October 17, 1958, and who passed away on June 24, 2013. She never stopped loving her hobbies for gardening and anything that had to do with music; as she loved to sing and play the piano. Above all else, Marlyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Marlyn is survived by her daughter, Dawn Lawrence, of AL, her sister, Phyllis Hineman, of AL, multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceeded in death by 2 daughters; Sharon Lopes and JoEllen Alberts and by her 2 brothers; Keith and Wayne Petri. Per her wishes, Marlyn's family will be remembering her life privately. A memorial service to honor her life will be celebrated at a later date at the convenience of the family.
