Mable E. \nHeffer, 99, a resident of Concordia Lutheran \nMinistries, Cabot, PA, went into the presence of \nJesus November 15, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice, \nCabot, following a brief illness. \n\nMable was born September 4, 1919, in Erie, PA, to \nthe late Gilbert and Martha (Montgomery) Morehouse. \nShe married Rev. Robert Heffer on June 9, 1944. He \npreceded her in death on August 23, 2008. \n\nMable was a graduate of Erie East High School and \nthe Missionary Training Institute, Nyack, NY and was \na member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance \nChurch .\n\nMable and her husband pastored C&MA churches in Kent \nand Kinsman, OH; North East, South Fork, Corry, New \nStanton, Mahaffey and Burnside, PA . From 1970-1973, \nthey served as dorm parents at Dalat School for \nmissionary children in Malaysia.\n\nThe Heffers retired in Greenville, PA after 43 years \nof pastoral ministry and they served interim \npastorates at Sandy Lake, Cambridge Springs, New \nWilmington, PA, and supplied pulpits in various \nchurches. \n\nMable, with her husband, was one of the original \nfounders of the Edinboro Conference Grounds. She was \nactive in Child Evangelism Fellowship and the Great \nCommission Women. She was the ideal pastor's wife \nand known for her servanthood, hospitality, and \nChrist-like example.\n\nMable is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Dennis \n(Judy) Tunnecliffe, Sidman, PA; Mrs. Craig (Jan) \nHenkel, Winston-Salem, NC; Mrs. Richard (Jeanne) \nGlauser, Butler, PA; six grandchildren, eight great \ngrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.\n\nBesides her parents and husband, Mable is preceded \nin death by one son-in-law, Greg Monaghan; three \nsisters: Bertha Nelson, Hazel Julian, and Rosella \nShaner. \n\nVisitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and \n6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at \nThompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North \nSt. Butler, PA 16001. An additional viewing will be \nheld from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November \n19, 2018, at Crosswinds Alliance, 516 Freeport Road, \nButler, PA 16001.
