M. Kenneth \nStephenson, 90, of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, \npassed away on January 7, 2023, at the Autumn Grove \nCare Center in Harrisville, PA. \n\nHe was born August 10, 1932, in Butler, Pennsylvania \nto the late Melvin E. Stephenson and the late Ella \nDumbaugh Stephenson. \n\nKenneth worked as an architectural designer and was \na former assistant plant engineer for Moonlight \nMushroom Company in Worthington, PA. Kenneth was \nactive in Boy Scout of America, where he reached the \nrank of second class in 1944, as a member of Troop \n12. In the Boy Scouts, he was a recipient of the \nDistrict Award of Merit and a Brotherhood member of \nthe Order of the Arrow. He was a Woodbadger of the \nBob White Patrol and served as a Unit Commissioner \nand Committee Chairman of Troop 12. Kenneth was a \nmember of the Butler Lions Club and was a Mason. He \nwas a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church of Cabot, \nPA and All Saints Lutheran of Slippery Rock. Kenneth \nwas the last of a 4-member bobsled group that went \ndown South Main Street hill on one late winter night \nin 1950 after a big snowfall. Kenneth was an artist \nand had belonged to the Butler Art Association. \n\nHe is survived by one daughter, Melanie Petridis of \nSlippery Rock, PA; one son, G. Todd Stephenson of \nSlippery Rock, PA; two grandsons, Alex Petridis, and \nKostas Petridis; twin sister, M. Kathleen (Kay) \nDavis of North Canton, OH; and two nephews.\n\nIn addition to his parents, he was preceded in death \nby his wife, Garnet T. Stephenson, whom he married \non September 3, 1959, and who passed away on October \n2, 2022; and one son-in-law, George Petridis.\n\nA memorial service will be held on Saturday, January \n14, 2023, at 1:00 pm at All Saints Lutheran Church, \n351 South Main Street, Slippery Rock, PA, with \nPastor Jacob Deal, officiating.\n\nArrangements were entrusted to Thompson-Miller \nFuneral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, \nPA 16001.\n\nBurial will take place in the North Side Cemetery.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, plant a tree.
