Karen Ann Mesner, 77, of \nRenfrew, PA left this earthly life on Tuesday, \nJanuary 5th 2021 at Heritage Valley Health Systems/ \nBeaver, surrounded virtually by her loving family.\n\nShe was born on June 2, 1943 in Butler, PA, daughter \nof the late James and Helen Murphy.\n\nHer fondest childhood memories are growing up around \nher aunts and cousins. She is a 1961 graduate of \nButler High School. After meeting at the Butler Farm \nShow through Karen's cousins, on April 8th, 1964, \nshe married her love, Charles L Mesner Jr. During \nChuck's service in the US Navy in Vietnam, they \ntravelled back and forth across the States in their \nVolkswagen Bug. Finally settling in Butler, they \nraised a family, owned and operated Mesner Service \nCompany (a plumbing/HVAC business), and retired to \nwatch their grandkids grow.\n\nKaren had a feisty spirit, loved to read, paint with \nwatercolors, eat popcorn while watching Star Wars \nand the Oscars with her son, and got her greatest \nenjoyment from being with family. She was loved by \nthe church family of First Bible Baptist Church in \nHarmony, PA who shared with her of the love of Jesus \nChrist and His saving grace through Christ alone.\n\n\nMrs. Mesner was preceded in death by her husband of \n51 years and is survived by her 2 children, Corinne \n(Mark) Nickerson of Renfrew, and Steven (Corinne) \nMesner of Encino, CA; 10 grandchildren, Nathan \n(Stephanie) Nickerson, Zachary (Abigail) Nickerson, \nEli (Emily) Nickerson, Rebecca Nickerson, Hannah \nNickerson, Benjamin Nickerson, Sophia Mesner, \nJeremiah/Miggs Nickerson, Ava Mesner, Lydia \nNickerson; one great granddaughter Hadassah Noel \nNickerson and a sister, Diane Murphy of Butler.\n\nA private memorial service will be held on Friday \nJanuary 15th at Butler County Memorial Park \nMausoleum with the Pastor David G Smith of First \nBible Baptist Church in Harmony, PA officiating.\n\nArrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller \nFuneral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, PA \n16001.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family is asking that \nmemorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's \nAssociation at www.act.alz.org/donate <http://www.act.alz.org/donate>.
