H. Joyce Catt, 87, of Butler, \nPennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, August 10, \n2019 at The Orchard of Concordia. \n\nShe was born January 1, 1932 in Butler, Pennsylvania \nat the family residence of West Boyd Avenue to the \nlate Stephen A. Curry and the late Edna I. Wineberg \nCurry. \n\nJoyce was employed at Heckett Engineering for 10 \nyears. Following a 5 year retirement she was the \nNews Director for 10 years at WBUT and then \nReceptionist at WISR. Joyce was a life member of \nFirst United Methodist Church where she was on the \nWorship Committee, Women Society of Church, and \nMembership Committee. She was a member of the Asbury \nSunday School Class and the 3M's (Merry Mature \nMethodist). Joyce was a member of Maqueda Lodge \nO.E.S., and Past President of Intermediate League of \nButler, Past President of Butler Federation of \nWomen's Club, Past President of Soroptimist \nInternational, Past Chairperson of the Butler \nTraveling Library. She also was a member of the \nBoard of Directors for the Butler Symphony \nOrchestra, and a past member of the Slippery Rock \nUniversity Board of Directors. Joyce enjoyed being a \nFoster Grandmother at Butler County Community \nCollege Childcare Center and Butler County \nChildren's Center. She was a 1950 graduate of Butler \nHigh School.\n\nShe is survived by one son, Dr. Stephen R. Catt of \nButler, PA; one sister, Beryl Tait of Butler, PA; \nand a number of nieces and nephews. \n\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in \ndeath by husband, Richard D. Catt whom she married \non June 8, 1951 and who passed away on June 15, \n1998; one brother, David Ross Curry and one sister, \nVirginia Rose Hartung.\n\nFriends will be received at Thompson - Miller \nFuneral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, \nPA. on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to \n8 pm.\n\nA memorial service will be held on Saturday, August \n17 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, \n200 East North Street Butler, PA, with, Tom Holman \nand Pastor David Janz of First United Methodist \nChurch, officiating.\n\nBurial will take place in the Summit Church \nCemetery.
