Joan Newell Obituary (1933

Joan (Morrill) Newell, 87, of Butler, PA, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Newhaven Court at Clearview, Butler, PA. She was born March 25, 1933 in Readfield, Maine to the late Richard Morrill and Vera (Lang) Corber. Joan was a Registered Nurse. She worked for Butler Memorial Hospital for 3 years, a private nurse for 7 years and spent the next 20 plus years at the VA Hospital and other nursing jobs retiring in 1995. She was Episcopalian by faith. Joan is survived by two sons, Todd Newell of California, MD, and Timothy Newell of Wooster, MA; two grandchildren, Heather (Chad) Lyman of Florida and T. J.; three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Renee and Dylan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carmon Benford Newell who she married on August 7, 1954 and who passed away on August 16, 2010 and her sister, Patricia Morrill from Allentown, PA.. A private interment will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park. Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001 is assisting the family with arrangements.
