Jeannette \nBrowdy Haag was born November 3, 1919 and passed \nJune 21, 2020 peacefully at home in Butler Pa., with \nher son Arthur and daughter-law Aline Haag at her \nside. Her daughter Frances was able to have several \nvideo calls during last few hours.\n\nJeannette was born and raised in New York and Bergen \nCounty with her sister Ethyl Browdy Kiss by their \nparents Emanuel and Anna Browdy. \n\nJeannette graduated from Teaneck High School in the \ngreat depression and went to work at New York Life \nto help support her family. Through the hundred \nyears of her life she worked as a bookkeeper, office \nmanager for several doctors and was an accomplished \npianist, master seamstress and a competitive \nduplicate bridge player.\n\nJeannette married Dr Samuel Haag, a practicing \ndentist, and the two decided to move to West Nyack, \nNew York. In West Nyack they built a dental practice \nin their home and began a long term association with \nthe community for over 60 years. \n\nJeannette became a trustee and helped to establish \nthe West Nyack Free Library and for the next twenty \nyears and volunteered at the Nyack Hospital.\n\nJeannette received numerous awards for her service \nto her community; among which was the United States \nHouse of Representative Certificate of Special \nCongressional Recognition for outstanding and \ninvaluable service to her community.\n\nJeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Dr \nSamuel Haag; her sister, Ethyl Browdy Kiss; two \ngrandchildren, Kristina Blumenthal, George Walter \nZeigler and one great-great grandson, Daniel \nBlumenthal.\n\nJeannette is survived by her two children; Frances \nJulie Haag and Arthur Marc Haag (Aline); brother-in- \nlaw, Stephen M Kiss; five grandchildren, Peter \nZeigler, Anna Grace Haag, Ethan Haag, Edie (David) \nKennedy and Michael (Michelle) Zeigler; seven great \ngrandchildren, Max Blumenthal, Molly Blumenthal, \nAmanda Zeigler, Alyssa Zeigler, Michael Zeigler, \nMathew Kennedy and Michael Kennedy; four nieces and \nnephews, Richard M Kiss, Candy (JP) McDermott, Ellie \n(Jack) Weatherall and Edward (Robin) Haag; five \ngreat nieces and nephews, Megan (Evan) McPhee, Kevin \n(Jennifer) Weatherall, Lauren Weatherall, Elizabeth \nHaag and Joshua Haag; one great-great nephew, Wyatt \nWeatherall.\n\nMemorials are suggested to the West Nyack Free \nLibrary 65 Strawtown Rd West Nyack, NY 10994 Or The \nRockland County Association for the Blind. 260 Old \nNyack Turnpike Spring \nValley, New York 10977.\n\nArrangements have been entrusted to the \nThompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
