Helen G. Knauer, 102, of \nButler, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 20, \n2019 at the Newhaven Court at Clearview. \n\nShe was born July 17, 1917 in Butler, Pennsylvania \nto the late George Brookhart and the late Bessie P. \nJohnston Brookhart. \n\nHelen worked as a Tipstaff at the Butler Courthouse \nfor 14 years, retiring in 1996. She then went to \nwork for the Clerk of Courts at the Butler County \nCourt House, retiring on October 13, 2017, at the \nage of 100. Helen was a former member of Armco \nCountry Club, former member of Elks Auxiliary, and \nformer member of the Armco Bowling League. She was a \nmember of the A.A.R.P. and was an avid bridge \nplayer. Helen was a member of Hill United \nPresbyterian Church. \n\nHelen is survived by her one daughter, Joanne Heim \nof Butler, PA; one son, Robert B. Knauer of Renfrew, \nPA; seven grandchildren, Patti (Brad) Amos of \nPittsburgh, PA, Robin (Victor) Whann of Butler, PA, \nRobert (fiancee - Lisa Blackwell) David Knauer of \nRenfrew, PA, Jeffrey (Amy) Knauer of Butler, PA, \nMichele (Scott) Hull of Buffalo, NY, JB (Leslie) \nBurns of Medina, OH and Michael (Sheri) Burns of \nMedina, OH; 13 great-grandchildren, Austin Amos, \nBailey McGloin, Madison Amos, Jacob Whann, Nicholas \nWhann, Danielle Peffer, Lindsey Hull, Kelsey Burns, \nLaney Burns, Joshua Burns, Allie Burns, Adam Knauer \nand Evan Knauer; and great-great-grandchildren, \nMarshall McGloin and Riley Peffer; one son-in-law, \nJames (Nancy) Burns of Medina, OH; one \ndaughter-in-law, Edna Mae Knauer of Butler, PA; and \na number of nieces and nephews. \n\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in \ndeath by her husband, Bertrand H. Knauer, who passed \naway on August 31, 1975; one daughter, Nancy Burns; \none son, Bertram H. Knauer, one grandson, Tom Heim; \nthree sisters, Mary Elizabeth Weaver, Virginia \nDavis, and Ruth Brookhart; two brothers, George \nBrookhart and Dick Brookhart; one daughter-in-law, \nNorma J. Knauer; and one son-in-law, John Heim.\n\nFriends will be received Friday, December 27, 2019, \n2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson - Miller Funeral \nHome, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.\n\nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, December \n28, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at the Hill United Presbyterian \nChurch, 501 Second St. Butler, PA, with Pastor Leigh \nBenish, officiating.\n\nBurial will take place in the Butler County Memorial \nPark.\n\nMemorial donations can be made to the Donor's \nFavorite Charity.
