Fred D. Thomas Obituary (1932 - 2020)

Fred D. Thomas, 87, of Connoquenessing passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2020. He was born December 24, 1932, in East Butler and was the son of the late Harry and Martha (Gilbert) Thomas. He retired from Pullman Standard in 1982 and from Morgan Management Company in 2000. He also was a lifetime member of the East Butler Firemans Club. He is loved and will never be forgotten by daughters Val-Dean and her husband Randy Scott of Renfrew; Corinne and her husband Donald (Goldie) Gould of Butler; sons Fred Thomas, Jr and his wife Terri of North Carolina; Devin Thomas and his wife Cindy of Ellwood City. He will be forever loved and missed by granddaughters Shannon and her husband Ryan Stevenson, their children Case and Hadley; Brittany Scott; Brandi Scott and her sons Jimi and Axl. Also surviving are an additional 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson. Fred is also survived by a sister Sarah (Donald) Bortmas; 2 brothers Harry Thomas and James Thomas. 1 brother in law William (Alice) King. He was proceeded in death by his wife Shirley (King) Thomas, daughter and son-in-law Michele and Arthur (Pete) Day. His parents, his sisters Janet (Leonard) Nocera, Mable (Eugene) Hays. Brothers Donald (Mary Lou) Thomas; George (Jeanine) Thomas; 3 sister-in-laws Beatice (Bea) Thomas, Yvonne Edwards, Patricia (James) Callahan. 1 brother in law Alden King,and his mother in law Genevive King. Friends will be received at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ben Oesterling, officiating. Private burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates. In accordance with the Covid-19 guidelines mandated by the state of Pennsylvania, face masks are required.
