Eleanor M. \n(DeMatteis) Lasky, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed \naway on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at her residence, \nsurrounded by her family. \n\nShe was born September 23, 1923 in Butler, \nPennsylvania to the late Vincent DeMatteis and \nAntonia (Nanni) DeMatteis. \n\nEleanor's vocation of blessed motherhood made her \nthe loving and devoted mother of nine children that \nshe was. She loved each of us as though there were \nonly one of us. She was also a very loving \ngrandmother and great grandmother. She leaves many \nwho mourn her passing.\n\nShe was a member of St. Michael the Archangel \nParish. She was devoted to praying constantly for \nfamily and friends.\n\nHer greatest enjoyment was spending time with family \nwhom she continually encouraged and inspired. She \nhad a fondness for watching old movies and enjoyed \nlife as evidenced by her wonderful sense of humor \nand how much she loved to laugh and sing. Eleanor \nwas a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed sharing \nher delicious creations with family and friends. She \nhad a heart of gold and the hands of a servant.\n\nEleanor is survived by three sons, Thomas A. (Karen) \nLasky of Butler, PA, Samuel V. (Lori) Lasky of West \nJefferson, OH and Timothy P. (Debbie) Lasky of The \nWoodlands, TX; six daughters, Carol (David) Foster \nof Butler, PA, Dianne M. Lasky of Middletown, VA, \nSherry A. (John) Dreher of Emlenton, PA, Kathy \n(Daniel) Yoder of Butler, PA, Cindy Six of Columbus, \nOH and Elaine A. (Vance) Wagner of Valencia, PA; 19 \ngrandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two sisters, \nAngela DeMatteis of Butler, PA, and Joan (Harry) (DeMatteis) \nJannetti of New Castle, PA; and a number nieces and \nnephews. \n\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in \ndeath by her loving husband, Samuel Lasky who she \nmarried on November 16, 1946 and cherished until his \npassing in 2002; her 2 brothers, Domenic DeMatteis \nand Michael Angelo DeMatteis, six sisters, Ann (DeMatteis) \nKrankota, Clara DeMatteis, Elisa (DeMatteis) Thomas, \nViolet DeMatteis, Sylvia (DeMatteis) Wigton and \nAnita (DeMatteis) Denny. \n\nSpecial thanks to many loving caregivers and the \nHeartland Hospice for their exceptional care and \nsupport.\n\nViewing and Mass of Christian Burial will be private \nand at the convenience of family. \n\nBurial will take place in the St. Peters Catholic \nCemetery.\n\nMemorials are suggested to the Pennsylvanians for \nHuman Life, PHL/SW, P.O.
