Dorothy M. Mullen, 92, of \nRenfrew, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, May \n6, 2023 at her residence. \n\nShe was born April 11, 1931 in Butler, Pennsylvania \nto the late Lawrence Hayden and the late Ada M. (Reash) \nHayden. \n\nDorothy worked as a secretary to the Dean of \nInstruction at Butler County Community College, \nretiring in 1996. Dorothy was a lifelong member of \nNixon United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in \nthe choir for 40 years. She enjoyed her \ngrandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy \ngraduated from Butler High School in 1949.\n\nShe is survived by three daughters, Susan L. \n(Gerald) Cupps of Butler, PA, Cynthia L. (Charles) \nYenick of Renfrew, PA, and Lisa M. (Jack) Shaffer of \nValencia, PA; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Seth) \nMcCall of Butler, PA, Shalene (Dakota) Dickey of \nButler, PA, Kala (Kurtis) Ruffaner of Saxonburg, PA \nand Jessica Yenick of Renfrew, PA; and also seven \ngreat-grandchildren and one sister Nancy Horner of \nOhio.\n\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in \ndeath by her husband, Edgar F. Mullen whom she \nmarried on January 17, 1953 and who passed away June \n14, 2001.\n\nFriends will be received at Thompson - Miller \nFuneral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, \nPA. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 12:00 (noon) - 4:00 \npm. Funeral service will be held immediately \nfollowing at 4:00 pm with Pastor B.T. Gilligan of \nNixon United Methodist Church, officiating. \n\nBurial will take place in the Brownsdale Cemetery.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made to \nGood Samaritan Hospice, 116 Browns Hill Rd, \nValencia, PA 16059.
