Dorcas G. Parsons Benge Obituary (1927

Dorcas G. Parsons Benge, 91, of Cabot, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 8, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot, PA. She was born May 20, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Seth C. Galbraith and the late Emma Rosehart Galbraith. She was a member of the First United Methodist of Butler. Dorcas received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. She loved her grandchildren, traveling, sewing and crocheting, and was a dedicated church volunteer. Dorcas is survived by her son, Jeffrey G. (Mary Patricia) Parsons of Pittsburgh, PA; two daughters, Wendy S. Petrakos of Pittsburgh, PA, Pamela J. (Timothy) Flynn of Slippery Rock, PA; six grandchildren, Meaghan M. Parsons, Kenneth A. Foran, Aislinn R. Foran, Fiona E. Foran, Ma'ire E. Flynn, Grace K. Flynn; one sister, Esther G. (Dean) Kroh of Cabot, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Parsons, whom she married on February 9, 1952 and who passed away on December 10, 1984; her second husband, Robert E. Benge, whom she married on October 22, 2005 and who passed away on September 16, 2016; two brothers, Seth C. Galbraith, Jr. and David S. Galbraith, and one sister, M. Ruth Walborn. Friends will be received Monday, November 12, 2018, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation on Monday, November 12, 2018, at 7:00 pm at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA. Private burial will take place in the Union Dale Cemetery, Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Rd., Cabot, PA 16023.
