Donald G. "Don" Kennedy, 87, \nof Butler, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at \nthe Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with \nhis loving family by his side.\n\n\nBorn May 21, 1934 in Butler, PA, Don was the son of \nthe late Floyd and Grace (Wise) Kennedy.\n\n\nDon was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School. He \nproudly served his country in the U.S. Army for four \nyears and was a member of the American Legion Post \n117 in Butler. Don was employed as an electrician \nfor Fuellgraf Electric, IBEW, Local 5 until his \nretirement in 1996.\n\n\nDon belonged to Christ Community United Methodist \nChurch in Butler where he was a member of the \nChancel Choir, served on the property committee and \nhelped to serve at the Community Dinners. His \nbiggest passion was the Mission Work Team at church \nthat helped people repair their homes after a \nnatural disaster.\n\n\nDon enjoyed traveling and, along with his wife, \nvisited all fifty states, all the Canadian Provinces \nand all seven continents along with many cruises. He \nwas an avid dancer and could be seen dancing every \nWednesday evening at the Lyndora American Legion. \nDon also enjoyed boating and was a member of the \nButler Boat Club for over 40 years.\n\n\nDon is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Wogan) Kennedy, \nwho he married on November 10, 1956. He is also \nsurvived by his three children; one daughter, Karen \nLink and her husband Lloyd of Butler, two sons; \nGordon Kennedy of Butler and Brian Kennedy and his \nwife Kimberly of Harrisburg, PA, eight \ngrandchildren; Angela (Cory) Elder, Alyson (Evan) \nBeilstein, Lee (Marina) Link, Kara Kennedy, Brittni \nKrill, Katie, Morgan & Alex Kennedy, five great \ngrandchildren; two sisters; Ellen Hively and Martha \n(Sam) Bowser both of Columbia City, IN and a number \nof nieces and nephews.\n\n\nIn addition to his parents, he was preceded in death \nby his brother Richard D. Kennedy.\n\n\nAll are welcome to join the family for a visitation \non Friday, April 8, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 at \nThompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 E. North St. \nButler, PA 16001.\n\n \n\nA funeral service along with \nmilitary honors will be held on Saturday, April 9, \n2022 at 11:00 AM at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home \nInc. 124 E. North St. Butler, PA 16001 with the Rev. \nAnette V.
