David M. \nParaska, 77, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on \nJanuary 8, 2021 at the Butler Memorial Hospital. \n\nThe family would like to thank the ICU doctors and \nnurses for their care of Dave after emergency heart \nsurgery.\n\nDave was born in Butler to the late Michael Carl \nParaska and the late Helen Olga Walsh Paraska.\n\nDave was the owner of Paraska Construction. He \ndesigned and built over 400 custom homes and \nbusinesses in the Butler area. He started building \nin 1958 with his father M. C. Paraska, then took \nover the business in 1971 after the death of his \nfather. In the 1990's, he partnered with his son, \nSteve Paraska, until his retirement. His son, Steve, \ncontinues as the third generation of Paraska \nBuilders. \n\nDave loved flying private small planes; he soloed \nwhen he was sixteen, and acquired his commercial \nlicense, initially starting with United Airlines, \nuntil his desire to continue the family business \ncalled him to follow his heart which was in Butler \ndesigning homes. He was a member of the Experimental \nAircraft Association for over 50 years. In his \nretirement, he enjoyed simulated flying and building \npuzzles. \n\nDave graduated from Butler High School in 1960, and \nYoungstown State University in 1966. \n\nDave attended Community Alliance Church. Dave \nstarted his day reading the Bible, doing devotions \nand praying; he was a man of faith.\n\nDave is survived by his soul mate, of 57 years, \nPatricia Herold Paraska. They met in grade school \nand were high school sweethearts. Dave is also \nsurvived by one daughter, Marcia Lynn (Matthew) \nFischer of Butler; one son, Steven Michael Paraska \nof Butler. David's pride and joy were his four \ngrandchildren: Zachary Fischer, Jaycob Paraska, Zoe \nFischer and Henry Paraska, all of whom called him \n"Grandfather". He is survived by one sister, Judy \nMortimer; and numerous sister and brother in laws, \nnieces and nephews. \n\nIn addition to his parents, he was preceded in death \nby his brother, James Carl Paraska.\n\nA memorial service will be held on Saturday, January \n16th, 2:00PM at Community Alliance Church with Rev. \nDennis Krajacic officiating.\n\nArrangements are being entrusted to Thompson-Miller \nFuneral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, \nPA 16001.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made \nto: Habitat for Humanity at Habitat.org, Fishbone \nMinistries, 437 Shore Street, Butler, PA 16001 or \nMission Aviation Fellowship at giveMAF.org.
