On \nMonday January 7, 2019, Daniel C. Maguire, Jr., lost \nhis battle to PTSD. Born in Binghamton NY, to \nDaniel C. Maguire, Sr., and Heidi Morris, Dan \nattended Butler High School then excitedly enlisted \nin the United States Army. Serving two tours in \nOperation Iraqi Freedom, Dan was riding in a Stryker \non October 21, 2007 when the vehicle hit an IED. \nSpecialist Dan Maguire was sent to Walter Reed \nHospital for recovery finally being discharged on \nOctober 22, 2009. He was most proud of his Purple \nHeart and Combat Infantryman badge. \n\n\n\nDan \nenjoyed building vaping coils, was passionate for \nlearning about history and was well known for his \nuseless facts. With his sons he enjoyed discussing \ndinosaurs and outer space, his daughters had him \nwrapped around their fingers. \n\n\nDaniel \nis preceded in death by his first wife Whitney Jo \n(O'Brien) Maguire whom died on September 23, 2008. \n\n\n\n\nSurviving Dan is his wife Crystal G. (Goebel) \nMaguire of Butler; Mother Heidi ( John Schlotter) of \nButler; Father Daniel C. (Bernadette) Maguire Sr. of \nOhio; Brother Thomas (Ashley Donnelly) Maguire of \nButler; His closest friend referred to as a brother, \nSteven Hudson of Butler, and six children Liam, \nLucas, Jasper, Declan, Pacey and Ellarie Maguire. \n\n\n\nIf \nDaniel could speak to you the reader now, he would \nlove to say; PTSD does not make you weak or any less \nof a person, it is a battle that never goes away \ninside you. \n\n\nAt \nfamily's request, all services were private and have \nbeen entrusted to the care of the Thompson-Miller \nFuneral Home, Inc. 124 East North Street, Butler, \n16001.
