Charles G. \nSteighner, 88, of Butler, passed away Thursday, \nOctober 7, 2021, at Sunnyview Nursing and \nRehabilitation Center.\n\nBorn December 14, 1932, in Mars, Pennsylvania, he \nwas the son of the late Charles C. Steighner and the \nlate Emma (Kornick) Steighner. \n\nCharles graduated from Mars High School. He served \nin the U.S. Army in Korea. Charles was a member of \nthe All Saints Parish at St. Paul Roman Catholic \nChurch. He retired from International Staple and \nMachine Company in 1995. Charles enjoyed word search \npuzzles, watching, and cheering on Pittsburgh \nPirates, Penguins, and Steelers.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Carol Steighner, whom he \nmarried November 24, 1960; one daughter, Linda Sell; \none granddaughter, Megan Sell, all of Butler; one \nnephew, Ralph Spithaler Jr. (Bette) of Evans City; \nand cousins. \n\nIn addition to his parents, he was preceded in death \nby an infant daughter; one sister, Dorothy Spithaler; \nand one brother-in-law, Ralph Spithaler, Sr..\n\nThere will be no public visitation. \n\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at \n11:30 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2021, from All \nSaints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 \nN. Mckean St., Butler, PA, with Rev. Dan Waruszewski.\n\n\nPrivate burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery.
