Charles \nFuellgraf, 89, of Butler, PA passed away on Saturday, \nOctober 10, 2020 at the Heritage Valley Health System, \nSewickley, PA. \n\nHe was born September 18, 1931 to the late Charles L. \nFuellgraf Sr. and M. Ruth (Glenn) Fuellgraf. \n\nCharles was a 1949 graduate from Butler Area High \nSchool. He then graduated from Carnegie Institute of \nTechnology with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1953.\n\nHe served in the United States Marine Corps as an \nInfantry Officer in Overseas Service from 1952-1955 and \nwas on the Marine Corps All Star Football Team. \n\nCharles was President and CEO of Fuellgraf Electric \nCompany in Butler, PA and Nashville, TN.\n\nIndustry: 70 year member of the International \nBrotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #5, \nPresident of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the \nNational Electrical Contractors Association, Fellow \nMember of the Academy of Electrical Contracting, Life \nMember of the National Society of Professional Engineers \nand a registered Professional Engineer in 6 states, Hall \nof Honor Awardee from the Electric League of Western \nPennsylvania, Member of the American Arbitration \nAssociation During his tenure with Nationwide Insurance, \nCharles was a 40-year Board Member. He also served as \nChairman of the Board of Directors of Nationwide \nCommunications, Nationwide Development Co., Audit and \nCompensation Committees and a Trustee of Nationwide \nInvestment Foundation. He also served 8 years as a Board \nMember of Wausau Insurance. \n\nOutside Boards and Affiliations: Advisory Board for \nMellon and Union National Banks, Chairman and Life \nMember of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Chairman of \nthe Board for Butler Memorial Hospital, Trustee for the \nButler Memorial Hospital Foundation, Trustee and \nChairman for the Butler YMCA, Director of the Pittsburgh \nBranch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Board \nMember of the Boy Scouts of America, Trustee for \nCarnegie Mellon University and he was a member of \nCommunity Development Corporation and Endowment of \nButler County. \n\nMemberships: He was a 65 year member of William Miller \nLodge No. 769 F AM: A Life Member of the Royal Order of \nJesters of Pittsburgh Court 2; Butler Country Club, \nTeutonia Mannerchor, Pennsylvania Club, Duquesne Club, \nYoung Presidents Organization and the Rotary \nInternational. \n\nOutside Awards; He was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow \nfrom Rotary International. He was Junior Man of the Year \nof the Butler County Chamber of Commerce. He was a \nmember of the Carnegie Mellon All Star Football Team for \nthe 20 year Post War Period. A member of the Butler \nCounty Sports Hall of Fame and a recipient of the \nLeadership Award given by the Endowment for Butler \nCounty.\n\nCharles is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, \nJohanna (Campbell) Fuellgraf who he married on September \n24, 1955; three sons and one daughter, Charles (Terri) \nFuellgraf III, Gretchen (Ralph) Goetz, William (Melanie) \nFuellgraf and Christian (Heidi) Fuellgraf: two sisters, \nFlorence (Donald) B. Bronder, Wilma (Charles) Clark; 10 \ngrandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. \n\nFuneral services will be held on Thursday, October 15, \n2020, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran \nChurch, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001 with \nPastor James F. Neal, officiating. Family will receive \nfriends after the service.\n\nMilitary Honors will be provided by the Officers and \nMembers of the American Legion Post #117, Butler, \nAmerican Legion Post #778, Lyndora, and the VFW Post \n#249 of Butler following the service.\n\nBurial will be private.\n\nThe family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations \nbe made to the Butler Salvation Army, 313 W.
