Charlene May Stevenson, 81, of \nButler, PA passed away and went home to be with her \nLord and Savior on April 9, 2023.\n\nCharlene was born on May 18, 1941, in Erie, PA, to \nthe late Lewis Novak and the Late Edna Goughler \nNovak.\n\nAfter Charlene graduated from Zelienople High \nSchool, she attended college in Minnesota to become \nan airline stewardess. While she never joined the \nairline industry, Charlene employed her talents as \nJ.C. Penney clerk, a phone operator, a waitress, a \ncook at Camp Bucoco, a map machine mogul, an antique \ndealer, and an event planner for Tea Parties. She \nspent 10 years in the manufacturing industry at Mine \nSafety Appliance to pay for her kids' college \neducation.\n\nCharlene was a founding member of Westminster \nPresbyterian Church in America and most recently \nattended North Main Street Church of God. Through \nchurch, she gained many lifelong friends who \nvacationed together and did life together following \nbiblical principles. She always served within the \nchurch in many capacities. Leading crafts in youth \nministries, organizing adult Sunday School Class \nevents and cooking meals for Church events were her \nbread and butter. She involved herself in many Bible \nstudies and trusted in the Lord's redemptive plan at \nall times and circumstances.\n\nShe made her family a priority. Charlene loved \nattending her children's and grandchildren's many \nevents. Always telling them she loved them and was \nproud of them. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening \n(Oak Hills Garden Club), biking, and traveling. She \nwas a passionate card player and always participated \nin "card clubs" throughout her life.\n\nCharlene is survived by her husband of 62 years, \nWilliam D. Stevenson, who she married on January 14, \n1961; one son, David (Tracy) Stevenson of Butler; \nfive grandchildren, Erik Cupps, Stephanie Cupps \n(Jared) Arienzo, Tristen Stevenson, Tori Stevenson, \nand Landon Stevenson; three great grandchildren, \nKendall Cupps, Natalie Arienzo, and Courtney Arienzo; \nand one sister, Mary Lou (Ben) Langley of The \nVillages, FL.\n\nIn addition to her mother and father, she was \npreceded in by her daughter, Lisa Michelle Cupps, \nand her brother, Timothy Novak.\n\nVisitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023, \nfrom 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 \np.m. at Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 \nEast North Street, Butler, PA 16001.\n\nA funeral service will be held Friday, April 14, \n2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster PCA Church, 420 \nNorth Main Street, Butler, PA with Pastors Andreas \nBaily and Noah Baily, nephews of Charlene. \n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be \nmade in memory of Charlene Stevenson to Seneca Hills Bible Camp Girls Bathhouse \nProject (Give \n- Seneca Hills), an organization \nCharlene supported throughout her life.
