Carole Smith Dickson, 77, \nof Gibsonia, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 19, \n2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, PA.\n\nBorn March 21, 1945 in Port Allegheny, PA, she was \nthe daughter of the late Dr. Jack E. Smith and \nWinifred (Elliott) Smith. \n\nCarole was a 1963 graduate of Knoch High School. She \nthen went on to Penn State Main Campus where she \nearned her bachelor's degree in Home Economic \nEducation. During her professional years, Carole was \na high school home economics teacher in Maryland and \nPhiladelphia.\n\nThroughout her life, Carole was very active in her \ncommunity. She was a member of Nixon United \nMethodist Church, the Butler Garden Club, the Butler \nCountry Club and a cub scout leader of Pack 53. \nCarole was a former chairman and \ntrustee of the Butler CountyFamily YMCA and Butler County's first Junior \nMiss. One of Carole's favorite hobbies was golfing. \nShe was a member of the golf team at Penn State and \na member of the Women's Golf Association of Western \nPennsylvania and helped with the Butler Country Club \nJunior Golf Program. Carole also enjoyed sewing, \ngardening, swimming, cooking and the Steelers. Above \nall else, she loved spending time with her family \nand her dog, Toby.\n\n\nCarole is survived by her husband, John Craig \nDickson, Jr. whom she married on September 8, 1967; \nthree sons: John Craig "JC" (Erin) Dickson, III of \nGibsonia, PA, Travis Craig (Amy) Dickson of Mars, PA \nand Jefferson Craig (Mary Ann) Dickson of Rumson, NJ \nand seven grandchildren: Emerson, Eleah, Isabel, \nOlivia, Annie, Faye and Smith and her \nbrother-in-law, Robert Brehm\n\nIn addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in \ndeath by two sisters: Katherine "Joyce" (Smith) \nBrehm and Sally Lynn Smith and one brother: Jack \nElliott Smith.\n\nAll are invited to attend a memorial visitation for \nCarole on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM - \n1:00 PM at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 E. \nNorth St. Butler, PA 16001. A memorial service will \nimmediately follow at 1:00PM at First United \nMethodist Church 200 E. North St. Butler, PA 16001 \nwith Rev.
