Carl E. \nReiss, Jr., 84, of Butler, passed away peacefully on \nTuesday, January 18, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran \nMinistries, Cabot, PA.\n\nBorn February 1, 1937, in East McKeesport, PA, he \nwas the son of the late Carl E. Reiss, Sr. and \nMargaret (Kavran) Reiss.\n\nHe was a Veteran who proudly served in the U.S. \nNavy. Carl was employed as a skilled master mechanic \nat W L Roenigk Inc where he worked on diesel \nengines, busses, cars, and farm equipment until his \nretirement.\n\nCarl was a valued member of Trinity Presbyterian \nChurch, Butler, where he served as an Elder and an \nUsher as well as a treasured member of his church \ncommunity. He enjoyed gardening, car shows, working \npuzzles, playing bingo, traveling, tinkering with \nsmall engines and car repairs, and the outdoors. He \nwas also an avid Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates \nfan.\n\nSurviving is his wife of 34 years, Barbara (Krabill) \nReiss who he married on February 28, 1987; her \nchildren, Angel (of Virginia); Suzanne (Bill), and \nJack, all of Butler; one brother: William "Bill" \n(Karen) Reiss of Allentown, PA; grandchildren, step \ngrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He \nis also survived by three daughters to a previous \nmarriage, a stepson, and a stepdaughter.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson: \nDaniel; and a sister: Anna Marie.\n\nFamily and friends are invited to a visitation on \nSaturday, January 29, 2022, from 11:00 - 1:00 PM at \nThompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North \nStreet, Butler, PA 16001.\n\nA funeral service will be held following the \nvisitation on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 1:00PM \nwith Pastor Carmen Shullo, Sr. officiating.\n\nBurial will be made in Butler County Memorial Park.
