Avanell M.Della Santa Obituary (1928

Avanell M. Della Santa, 94, of East Butler, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, under the care of Concordia of Wexford. Born January 16, 1928, in Winfield Twp, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ellen (Nobel) Wright. Avanell enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting and knitting as well as canning and baking. In fact, it was said that she made the "best" apple pies. Avanell was always a kid at heart, had a great laugh and liked to play any game. She was very fond of her church, First United Methodist Church in Butler, of which she was a life-long member. Above all else, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and getting to spend time with them. Avanell is survived by her three daughters: Lisa (Vincent) Johns of Allison Park, Mary Anne (James) McBride of Stratford, NJ and Joyce Della Santa of Butler, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Avanell was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Della Santa, 2 brothers and 1 sister. A memorial service to honor the life of Avanell will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 E. North St. Butler, PA 16001 with Pastor David Janz officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Avanell's honor to Concordia of Wexford, 125 Brown Rd., Wexford, PA 15090.
