Avanell M. \nDella Santa, 94, of East Butler, PA, passed away on \nSunday, December 18, 2022, under the care of \nConcordia of Wexford. \n\nBorn January 16, 1928, in Winfield Twp, PA, she was \nthe daughter of the late Walter and Ellen (Nobel) \nWright. \n\nAvanell enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting and \nknitting as well as canning and baking. In fact, it \nwas said that she made the "best" apple pies. \nAvanell was always a kid at heart, had a great laugh \nand liked to play any game. She was very fond of her \nchurch, First United Methodist Church in Butler, of \nwhich she was a life-long member. Above all else, \nshe loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren \nand getting to spend time with them. \n\nAvanell is survived by her three daughters: Lisa \n(Vincent) Johns of Allison Park, Mary Anne (James) \nMcBride of Stratford, NJ and Joyce Della Santa of \nButler, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.\n\nIn addition to her parents, Avanell was preceded in \ndeath by her daughter, Cynthia Della Santa, 2 \nbrothers and 1 sister.\n\nA memorial service to honor the life of Avanell will \nbe celebrated on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at \n11:00 AM at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 \nE. North St. Butler, PA 16001 with Pastor David Janz \nofficiating. \n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial \ndonations be made in Avanell's honor to Concordia of \nWexford, 125 Brown Rd., Wexford, PA 15090.
