Alison P. Jones, a resident of \nAmber Woods at Harmar Village in Cheswick, PA and \nformerly of Butler, passed away on September 25, \n2021. \n\nShe was born November 11, 1930, in Butler, PA, and \nwas the daughter of the late father, Allison and the \nlate mother, Martha (Sheppard) Guthrie. She was a \nmember of St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church.\n\nAlison was affectionately known as Honey to some of \nher family members and friends, and as Gus, a \nnickname originally bestowed upon her by her dear \nfriends from the high school class of '48. She \nalways enjoyed a good laugh with family and friends, \nplaying cards and traveling, and she dearly loved \nher grandchildren and great grandchildren.\n\nIn 1950, Alison married Walter H. Jones and they \nraised three children; Larry G. Jones of Houston, \nTexas; Lance W. Jones (Mary Ellen Call) of \nPittsburgh; and Kristi M. Caplan (Bernie Caplan) of \nPittsburgh. \n\nShe is survived by her son, Lance and his partner; \ndaughter, Kristi and her husband; four \ngranddaughters, one great granddaughter and two \ngreat grandsons. She is also survived by Robert \nSomerville, her companion for the last nineteen \nyears. \n\nAlison was preceded in death by her parents, her \nhusband, Walter, and her eldest son, Larry.\n\nWe would like to thank Amber Woods at Harmar Village \nwhere Alison had lived since June of 2019. She had \nwonderful care there.\n\nA private burial service for immediate family \nmembers took place on Wednesday, September \n29, 2021 in Butler County Memorial Park. \n\nThe family asks that memorial donations be made to \neither St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 \nE.
